Hue Sync works on phone but not TV

My TV isn’t working with Hue Essentials sync. It works in the menu, which is what I used to test the trial as that’s all I had time to do. I jump on the trigger and buy it, and it doesn’t even work. It works in the menu, and nothing else.

I was under the impression YouTube would work, and the red bar is the only thing that shows up. What’s the deal?

There are a few Android TVs where Sync does not work in videos. Reason is still unknown. You can use it it games. See also: Sync (Entertainment) on your phone or Android TV
