I have had Philips Hue lights for many years without any problems. Then suddenly a few weeks ago some Hue lights automatically started switching on at sunset. I find this very unsatisfactory and I DO NOT WANT MY LIGHTS TURNING ON THIS WAY.
I have struggled to find a way of stopping this automatic switch on but cannot find it. Nor can I find a way of contacting Philips Hue support to help me solve this problem.
Can someone please urgently let me know how I can stop this unwanted sunset switch on?
I’m having the same issue! Is there a fix!? I don’t want this happening either!
I had a similar issue, but for me it was more around 4AM. A few times I woke up, perhaps because of the light switching on at 100% brightness, which is a pretty crazy place to be in if you’re not fully awake yet ![]()
I’ve found other people on reddit and other places on the internet, some of them with suggestions that might fix it, but none of it really worked for me in the end.
I can’t remember all of it, but I’ve tried clearing all automations, disconnect it from other apps (such as Apple Home) or devices, reset the bridge, inspect the bridge using the API, 3rd party apps like Hue Essentials, resetting the lamp, switching it with another one on a different spot..
But in the end I just replaced the lamps and never had the issue again (![]()
). I believe it was two of them, I imagine from the same faulty batch but with expired warranty.
The new lamps I bought had the advantage over the old ones in that they also supported changing the temperature which I liked so much I decided to replace a few other lamps as well. So after all I wasn’t that sad about it ![]()
