The “Philips Hue wall switch module” could in theory be made superfluous if one could use the power state of the bulb as a switch for other devices in the network.
I do not like to re-route the wiring inside my wall in order to make the switch smart. Using the bulb itself as a source for other automation seems like the software way to go (unless you want to sell extra hardware).
My usecase is that i have an extra lamp in the room connected to a permanent outlet. I would like to add a hue outlet switch or hue lamp to this permanent outlet. And magically i would like the power state of the extra lamp to copy the power state of the bulb that is switched.
