Hello,
I’m using Hue Essentials on an Android phone. I’ve recently purchased the Multiple Bridges and automation upgrades.
My aim is to use an Alexa voice command to enable or disable a Philips Hue motion sensor in my Media Room.
I’ve already created a SmartThings virtual switch called Motion Sensor Control, which is visible as a device in Alexa.
I’m having a problem creating the required Hue Essentials automation.
What I’ve tested:
I create a new automation and select Add Event → External.
I add an action to Toggle Sensor and select my Media Room sensor.
When I try to save the automation, Hue Essentials refuses to save it.
To investigate, I created a separate test automation using the same External event, with an action to switch on a light group and set its brightness to 50%.
This automation saved successfully, appeared in my list of available automations, and ran correctly.
However, an automation using Toggle Sensor will not save.
Could you please advise whether this is a known bug or whether there is a workaround?
Is Toggle Sensor currently supported as an action in an External automation?
Ultimately, I would also appreciate advice on whether an Alexa voice command can trigger this automation, directly or through SmartThings, so that I can enable and disable the Media Room sensor by voice.
Thank you for your help.
