I want to use a Philips Hue wired on/off switch, but without an actual wall switch. I asked Philips, and they advised against it. I want to use it to control a non-Hue light. We are currently building a house, so I can still decide whether or not to install wall switches; I’m leaning towards not having them. Normally, you would install the module behind the wall switch. However, I want to place it in the ceiling junction box and connect the live wire to the terminal where the switched live wire would normally go. My reasoning is that the Hue switch would then think the switch is “on,” allowing me to turn the light on and off via the app. And yes, I realize I won’t be able to operate it using a physical switch anymore. Does anyone have experience with this?
Mijn vraag. Ik wil een Philips HUE Bedrade aan-uitschakelaar gebruiken maar dan zonder schakelaar. Ik heb philips gevraagd en die wijst het af. Ik wil hem gebruiken om een niet philips HUE lamp te kunnen schakelaar. We zijn bezig een huis te bouwen en kan dus nog kiezen wel of geen schakelaars. Nijg naar geen schakelaars. Normaal zou je hem achter de schakelaar inbouwen. Ik wil hem echter in de centraaldoos plaatsen en dan de fase draad op de plek waar je normaal de schakeldraad zou plaatsen. Volgens mij beredenering zou de Hue schakelaar dan denken dat de schakelaar aan staat en kun je met de app de lamp aan en uitschakelen. En ja ik weet dat ik hem dan niet meer kan bedienen met de schaakelaar. Heeft iemand hier ervaring mee?
