I need to part ways with the official hue app, I’ve been recommended home assistant, Google home and a few other things, then I remembered hue essentials I’ve used for a few bits over the years.
Ultimately I just want to mix in some Bluetooth/wireless lights in with my existing hue and tradfri bulbs, especially E14 colours which I’m finding it difficult to find a good balance of cost vs quality.
The hue essentials app works with HUE, most zigbee lights (this includes TRADFRI Lights), lifx and YEELIGHT. If you can find them the INNR lights will also work with the app. However only HUE lights will work with entertainment zones.
Other wireless lights likely won’t work well or require multiple workarounds, you might be better off using home assistant.
I know this post is a couple months old now, but another thing to consider is the color availability of the bulbs. For example, I have several scenes in Hue that I like. I tried to copy the hex color code of several lights to Wiz bulbs but always get an error that the wiz bulbs don’t support the color. Maybe she is the newer ones do? Just something to think about. Wiz colors kinda suck IMO.
