The IKEA TRÅDFRI remote control appears to have different modes for the left (<) / right (>) buttons. This could cause issues with the color temperature not changing when holding one of those buttons. If you just set up your IKEA remote control through Hue Essentials or Phoscon, and the left/right buttons do not work, follow the steps below:
- Press and hold the on/off button for 5 seconds.
- Release the on/off button, and immediately double press either the left or right button.
Now the left/right buttons should work correctly. You may need to try this multiple times. An alternative method to fix this is to remove the battery, wait for 10 seconds, and insert it again.
Whenever you press and hold the on/off button for 5 seconds, the remote will return to the old behaviour.

When you use wizard in Hue Essentials (Android 1.14.2, iOS 1.8.0) to set up all buttons for the TRÅDFRI remote, then it works with both modes.
