Hue Bridge and IKEA Tradfri Motion Sensor

I’ve struggling to get the IKEA Tradfri Motion Sensor to pair with my Philips Hue Bridge via Hue Essentials. I’ve followed the YouTube video about 20 times with no success.

Anyone have success with this setup, anyone else have issues, or any tips?

  • IKEA Tradfri Motion Sensor: AA-2105176-1
  • Philips Hue Bridge Software: 1.60.1960062030
  • iPhone iOS Version: 16.6.1

One discrepancy I’ve found between the video and the instructions:

  • iOS App Instructions: Pair smart control with the bridge and use touchlink
  • Video: Tap “Search for Lights”

Is Touchlink (Premium) required?
