I can’t login to Philips Hue using the ‘away from home’ login button. It opens the Philips Hue app but then it just shows a loading icon in the app. It does not move forward nor does it give any errors.

Thanks for letting me know, Johan. I am not sure what is going on here. Tapping the sign in button should just open the web browser where you can sign in. But apparently Philips Hue decided to change this so it now opens their app? Not sure what is going on here, will have to look into it.
It looks like if the Philips Hue app is installed it now no longer opens the browser.
I can sign in successfully through the Hue app when it’s opened from within Hue Essentials. If that does not work for you I am afraid I cannot fix it as it’s not my app.
Here is a workaround to skip the Hue app and open the web browser (like before). You can change it back afterwards if you want.
- Go to the Android Settings app
- Tap Apps
- Search for the “Hue” app and tap it
- Tap defaults / set as default
- Disable the option “Open supported links”
- Now sign in through Hue Essentials
