Bridge lost due to new DHCP-assigned address

Really like the app!

But today I rebooted one of my routers due to a firmware update and one of my bridges got a new address via DHCP. The other didn’t. Now Hue Essentials can’t connect to the bridge because it has a new address. I can see it has the old address stored in the app but I can’t edit it.

All other Hue apps, including the official one have no issues, presumably because they find the bridge via Bonjour (?) instead of via a hardcoded address.

Feels like this should be fixed quick. Workaround is to remove the bridge and add as new, losing all your preferences such as favorites. That can’t be the design goal, right?

Hue Essentials should automatically discover your bridge again if the IP address changes. I am not sure why that did not work for you. We made some improvements to bridge connection in one of the latest updates which could fix your issue.

If you experience this again with the latest version, please let me know and I will look into it.
